The scheme was designed by Havering Council’s Technical Services Department to resemble an aircraft hangar to represent the site’s heritage as a former RAF base.

HBS developed the design with respect to building control and M&E requirements and also designed the fit-out and finishes. The internal design acknowledged the site’s RAF heritage by using clever flooring designs to represent a ‘corridor runway’ and RAF roundel carpets in the classrooms.

The project was completed on time and within budget.
