Rimex Metals are global manufacturers of specialised metal finishes. With over 60 years of expertise in the use of stainless steel and other metals, they provide surface finishes for applications in architecture, elevators, signage, interior design, machinery, engineering, refrigeration, catering, and transit sectors.

As a long-term client for over 12 years, Rimex Metals appointed HBS to construct a machine pit at their Enfield factory to house a new embossing machine which will be used for rolling textures and patterns into stainless steel.

As a highly specialised piece of engineering, the machine required a complex housing pit, designed to fine tolerances to incorporate both the cable runs and the machine’s confined location. HBS’s work involved cutting and removing the existing slab and relic foundations, pre-boring pile holes, and the installation of steel case driven piles and new slab. It was critical for the machine’s performance that the specific trench and loading requirements were achieved.

The £150k project was scheduled for an 8-week programme.
