OXO Tower Wharf, London
The OXO Tower is the Crown Jewel along this section of the south bank of the River Thames in London. HBS were very proud to be trusted to redecorate this landmark building on behalf of the building custodian, Coin Street Community Builders.
The project was undertaken in response to the development of the Sea Containers building next door that has been completely redeveloped.
There is not an area of the building that has gone untouched.
The external river and rear facing elevations have undergone full brick and stone restoration with repairs and cleaning made to many areas.
A full redecoration of the elevations was also undertaken. Access to the elevations was value engineered by HBS using power access cradles rather than a full independent scaffold. A safety scaffold fan was installed at ground floor level whilst the cradles were rigged from the roof. The cradles travelled up and down the elevations allowing the decorations to be completed with a minimum of effort and inconvenience to the property occupiers.
Other works included hard landscaping alterations and the replacement of automatic access doors for the main lifts that transport customers to one of London’s most famous tourist destinations, The Oxo Tower Restaurant.
The project was completed on budget, on programme and to HBS’s usual high standards of service delivery, workmanship and health and safety.
