Lombard Industrial Estate, Charlton
Our work at the Lombard Trading Estate in Charlton on behalf of our client, Orchard Street Investment Management, was part of a wider programme of active asset management by Orchard Street that will significantly improve the estate’s EPC ratings, with measures including improving the air quality and the thermal efficiency of the units.
Our work to one of the nine units on the 60,200 sq ft site was the installation of a new roof, with solar PV panels and EV charging hubs to improve energy efficiency and reduce the unit’s carbon footprint. We also installed new windows and doors along with fitting-out the office space.
As part of our commitment to community engagement, we reached out to local organisations and were pleased to support Greenwich Carers by re-levelling their access pathway which had suffered from subsidence. The newly levelled path now accommodates wheelchair users and significantly improves accessibility to the site for those with limited mobility.
We also established a relationship with Greenwich College, providing working experience to a T-level student and also hosting the construction department on a tour of the project to develop an understanding of the EPC A+ and decarbonisation work which was completed as part of the Refurbishment.
As HBS Director Andrew Pratt commented “We always finish these schemes with a real sense of purpose and added value — not only by delivering high standards on site in-line with our core values of safety, quality, and programme, but also by contributing to a more positive and sustainable environment.”
