Ingrebourne Children’s Centre is a specialist education and support facility within the London Borough of Havering. The centre deals with a wide range of issues such as children’s wellbeing, mother and toddler support, parenting skills including speech and language assistance.

The importance of children’s surroundings and use of colour within education is well documented. Colour has a huge part to play in stimulation and the particular brief from the children’s centre focused on these findings. The bright colours were designed to give a sense of space within a relatively small area. The stripes are all hand painted (not a wallpaper) and their differing widths represents the variety of issues and age groups that the centre deal with Linda Parsons – Centre Manager said . . .

The work HBS carried out for us was completed both efficiently and to a very high standard. If there were any concerns then they were dealt with immediately. The workmen were very conscientious and friendly and understood the need for security within the centre at all times and were willing to work within the time constraints for individual areas.
