We’ve recently completed the £2.5m redevelopment of Hylands Primary School in Romford.

The project, which was completed over two phases, included the construction of a 2-storey extension accommodating six new classrooms, school offices, library, a multi-use hall and a children’s football pitch. We also completed extensive external work which involved extending the playground and car parking facilities along with comprehensive soft landscaping.

The project and HBS’s work, has already received welcomed acclaim. Mark Trimby, London Borough of Havering’s Senior Architectural Officer commented that it was, “The best school in the Borough.”

Hylands Primary School Head Teacher Steve Bowers said, “’I cannot recommend HBS highly enough.  Their commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship with us was evident right from the start. Across a number of projects that lasted more than two years I always felt that our happiness was paramount to all at the firm, from builders on site to the directors who were always involved.  The level of health and safety, the quality of the work, the attention to detail, everything was first class’.

During construction the HBS team managed to keep the disruption to the school when occupied to a minimum. According to Andrew Pratt, HBS Project Director, “The entire HBS project team are very proud of this design and build project. The extension and other new facilities now sit seamlessly alongside the original build and the pupils and local community will benefit hugely from the investment and improved facilities.”
