Euroway Trade Park, Aylesford
We recently completed work on the low embodied refurbishment of the Euroway Trade Park in Aylesford on behalf of Orchard Street Investment Management. Our work enabled this ambitious initiative to bring a wave of sustainable improvements and cutting-edge enhancements to the site.
We carried out extensive retrofit upgrades to the existing warehouses, offices, and elevations, installing solar PV panels and EV charging hubs to boost energy efficiency that will play a crucial role in reducing the Park’s carbon footprint.
A key objective was to elevate the Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) of the buildings from their current ratings of C to E, up to impressive A and A+ ratings, significantly enhancing the energy performance and sustainability of the facility.
In addition to these improvements, Orchard Street were dedicated to enhancing the overall environmental quality of the facility. This included measures to improve air quality and the thermal efficiency of the units’ offices and enhancing on-site biodiversity, fostering a more vibrant and ecologically diverse environment. They also launched a local apprenticeship programme for each refurbishment project, contributing to both the economic and social wellbeing of the area.
We delivered the scheme in 12 weeks and hit a bespoke social value scorecard that delivered on local resourcing, free training for local colleges and gifting spare resources to a local hospice.
HBS Director Andrew Pratt commented, “We’re very proud to have been part of this project as we share the same philosophy of sustainable and environmentally aware construction as Orchard Street and we are delighted with the successful outcome of the project.”
