Addenbrooke’s Hospital is an internationally renowned teaching hospital based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. HBS have an existing, long-standing relationship with the Hospital and were appointed to carry out works to one of the Plant Rooms on the site.

Initial work involved fully designing and installing an access scaffold system to both ends of the building, including a Haki Staircase and powered hoist. This access enabled removal of the existing plant room wall render. Following removal and preparation of the substrate we installed the new BBA approved K-Rend render. This is a polymer-modified, self-coloured cementitious render with a textured finish, which will perform satisfactorily for a period in excess of 30 years.

In addition to the render we installed a new 25 Year Liquid Roofing system to the plant room roofs. This latest installation means we have now completed more than 3,000m2 of liquid roofing across the Addenbrooke’s Hospital site.
