Refurbishment of Guinness Partnership Properties in Milton Keynes
The Guinness Partnership were founded in 1890 to improve people’s lives and create possibilities for them. Today, their social purpose is to provide great homes and services, including care services, to over 140,000 customers across the country.
We were appointed by the Guinness Partnership to complete the £500k external refurbishment project to several blocks of residential properties at their mixed ownership Ashland Housing Estate in Milton Keynes.
When the buildings were designed and constructed, poor quality coping stones were installed to the elevation parapets. Over time, the integrity of these copings has failed, with leaks causing water damage internally and externally to the rendered elevations. Our work during the 16-week programme involved erecting access scaffold, replacement of copings by utilising an aluminium coping system with an engineered waterproof system, replacement of damaged render, along with various other repair works.
