HBS Complete Phase 1 at Hylands Primary School
During an intensive summer of work at Hylands Primary School, an ambitious £2m scheme which involves extending the school in two separate locations, we completed phase 1 of the project. This included infilling 300m2 of balcony area to construct a multi-use area, new school offices and library. We also expanded the car park, relocated the entrance gate, installed a sliding gate and carried out soft landscaping to reorganise the children’s football pitch.
We also commenced the piling on phase 2, which will involve us constructing a new two-storey, 350m2, six classroom block. As the school will be occupied during construction, alongside the other works we carried out during the holiday, we prepared the school so building work can continue safely when the school is open, causing minimal disruption to school life.
Andrew Pratt, HBS Project Director said, “We’re delighted with the way the project is progressing, the HBS team worked tirelessly during the school holidays to get works completed and to prepare the school so it’s completely safe for when the children are there.”
